Hello. We are Kris and Samantha. Though we haven't met you yet, we already know you are making a courageous and selfless decision. We can’t imagine what you are experiencing as you weigh all your options, but we are thankful you have found your way thus far and came across us! We would be honored to come alongside you, support you and show all the love we have to you and your baby. Thank you for taking the time to look at our profile. We look forward to meeting you.
Expectant mothers who choose to make an adoption plan may qualify for some level of financial assistance during their pregnancy. However, each person's situation and specific needs are different. Your adoption social worker can help you determine what level of assistance you qualify for and deserve. Many expectant mothers qualify for financial assistance to cover basic pregnancy and living expenses, including but not limited to - transportation reimbursement, utility assistance for phone, water, and electricity/gas, maternity clothing and supplements, etc.
It won't cost you anything. If you choose to place your baby for adoption, all of your medical and legal fees will be covered and you may be eligible for financial assistance with other pregnancy-related expenses.
Yes. Even if you don’t know the identity of the birth father, you can still choose to make an adoption plan. However, every adoption situation is different. The adoption social worker you’re assigned to will get to know you and your story first, and then guide you through the process accordingly.
You can make an adoption plan at any point in your pregnancy, even after the baby has been born. But, it's important to start the process as early in your pregnancy as possible. Connecting with those resources will allow you to gain access to important medical services, including prenatal care, to help ensure a healthy pregnancy.
One aspect of your adoption plan is the "Hospital Plan" an outline of how you'd like your hospital stay and delivery to go. You can craft this on your own or with the help of your adoption social worker. But everything is up to you. You’ll be able to choose who comes to the hospital with you, who is in the room with you during delivery, and how much time you’d like to spend with the baby before signing the final papers.
As part of your adoption plan, you'll determine whether or not you’d like to have an open or closed adoption or something in between. Open adoptions may include phone calls, messaging (via social media, email, or text), and/or periodic visits each year. Closed adoptions may include no contact at all or annual updates provided to the birth parent(s) by the adoptive family. Each post-adoption relationship is different and can vary based on what an expectant mother chooses in her adoption plan.
Sasha had so much fun making and handing out sweet Valentine's to her family, friends, neighbors and strangers. haha! She made chocolate goodies and an extra special Valentine for her Daddy too. Shh!
Every February our family spends a long weekend in the mountains together. Snowflakes, movies and hot cocoa make the weekend unforgettable!
When Kris hosts, Kris cooks!
Prime Rib, mashed potatoes, fresh rolls, oh my!
Even though it's winter, we still enjoy fresh air at the park! Grandpa & Grandma love the short walk from our house to the park where we can see the entire front range.
We had so much fun hosting Grandpa & Grandma for a few days! Grandpa calls her "Pip Squeak" or "Half Pint," haha we'll see if it sticks. It was a sweet, sweet time together.
We had dinner with our neighbors last night. We've gone back and forth hosting each other for years now! They have two golden retrievers whom are called "the girls" and Sasha is referred to as "their toddler" haha. We LOVE having them in our lives and are excited to watch their friendship grow.
We have two more nephews with winter birthdays that are often celebrated together. It was a wintry day outside but cozy inside with all the family together.
My sister sent me a song she came across online this morning written by an adoptive mom. I've listened to it about 100 times already. All the lyrics are beautiful; one of my favorite lines is "we think of you (birth mom) everyday, you're in her heart..."
We are praying for you now and always.
Samantha and I love the opportunity to grow and raise our family alongside other friends and families. Saturday we celebrated our friend's son's first birthday. Naturally, it was Avalanche hockey themed. Getting a picture of one toddler is difficult; capturing two little ones feels nearly impossible.
Today Kris taught a youth hockey lesson while Sasha & I (Samantha) took Grandpa & Grandma to the airport for their trip to New Zealand! Babcia (Grandma in Polish) had a small gift for Baby #2. She loves to shop which is so sweet and thoughtful! Then I took the afternoon to prep baby food. I make most of Sasha's food and seeing her spot in the freezer full makes my heart happy and thankful!
Though our night life looks a little different than it used to, when Sasha went to bed, Kris and I made cookies and listened to music to enjoy a Friday night together! We tried a world famous cookie recipe from a New York bakery.
We bought a new sofa for our living room. Sasha has discovered a whole new world from the downstairs window!
Happy New Year! We're full of smiles and resolutions here as we wind down from all the holiday fun.
Merry Christmas! One of Sasha's gifts was a baby doll so she can be all the more ready for her baby brother or sister.
Christmas Eve is Kris' favorite day of the year. The family gathers for an afternoon and evening full of classic movies, Ukrainian feast, and presents under the tree!
Sasha's cousin celebrated his 3rd birthday at a children's tumble house. Sasha went up and down the slide about 1,592 times and still wanted more! Everyone was all smiles!
Today we enjoyed an indoor pool together! We all love the water and are excited to introduce Sasha to the ocean.
Kris accompanies a children's choir for a Christmas Recital each year. He plays any instrument needed! We can't wait for Sasha to participate in the years to come.
We love Christmas time and soak up all the lights and festivities! I love the twinkle in Sasha's eyes!
Sasha & I took a quick trip to attend a friend's baby shower! We look forward to all the memories as the babies grow up together.
Very thankful for FAMILY. We can't wait to be a family of four!
While we were with Samantha's parents we opened Christmas presents early. Once we got back to CO these two "kids" were enjoying them immediately! As he loves to cook, Kris got a large cast iron and Sasha got a ball pit for these active toddler years.
We had a great week of vacation visiting Samantha's family. It was full of cousin time and even a traditional fish dinner with Great Grandpa D!
We took family pictures around Sasha's birthday. This was the first time we ever included our pet horse, Harley.
Our second nursery is ready! I (Samantha) handmade the hot air balloon decoration just for Baby.
